HARD by Cheryl McIntyre
THIS IS A FULL-LENGTH, STAND-ALONE EROTIC ROMANCE
I have been staring at her for three months. Watching her. Memorizing her.
For ninety-two days, I’ve looked into those lifeless green eyes.
And for ninety-two days she has inspired me in ways I never knew possible. A muse, unbeknownst to her. Motivating me. Encouraging my darkest desires.
I’m a man who knows what he wants. And what I want is the beautiful and broken Holland Howard.
My name is Jensen Payne—photographer, autocrat, lecher, Scopophiliac. I am who I am and I will not—cannot—change.
WARNING: THIS BOOK CONTAINS POSSIBLE EMOTIONAL TRIGGERS FOR SOME READERS. PLEASE TAKE THIS WARNING SERIOUSLY.
I can not even begin to tell you how amazing this book was!! I love Cheryl McIntyre’s Sometimes Never series, but this is her best book yet. It works on every possible level. It will make you hot, it will turn you on, it will make you cry, it will take your breathe away. The depth of the characters is what sets this book apart from most erotic romances.
From the first chapter to the last I felt every emotion the characters felt and more importantly, I believed every emotion. Every feeling, every action and every reaction make perfect sense in the context of the book. There’s no false drama or manufactured conflict, it’s all exactly as it should be, gut wrenching and real.
And holy hell the sex in this book is off the charts. Some of the most inventive, sensual, erotic sex I’ve ever read (and I’ve read ALOT). If this doesn’t turn you on you might want to see a doctor, something may be broken.
But beyond the wonderful story and the sexy romance, what makes this book amazing(and truthfully most of Cheryl’s books) is the way this author turns a phrase. There is such a lyrical poetic quality to the phrasing and sentence structures that adds to the emotion in such a tangible way. I often find myself re-reading and highlighting large parts of the text just because the wording is so beautiful. It moves me the same way a great song lyric does.
I read this book TWICE the day I got it, yes that’s right, twice the same day. I have a feeling this is a book I’ll go back and read over and over again.
