A Lover’s Lament Trailer:

In a matter of seconds my entire world changed, and it was in that moment that I stopped living and simply began to exist.

In my grief, I sent a letter to the first boy I ever loved. I hoped in writing it I’d find some peace from the nightmare I was living, some solace in my anger.

I didn’t expect him to write back. I wasn’t prepared for his words, and I certainly wasn’t ready for the impact this soldier would have on my life. A deep-rooted hate transformed into friendship, and then molded into a love like I’d never known before.

Sergeant Devin Ulysses Clay did what I couldn’t: he put the shattered pieces of my heart back together, restoring my faith in humanity and teaching me how to live again.

But now that I’m whole, I have a decision to make. Do I return to my life as I knew it and the fiancé I left behind, or do I walk away from it all for the only man to ever break my heart?

I’ve been living in hell, but you won’t hear me complain.

These men depend on me, as I do them, and this brotherhood is the only family I’ve ever known.

The Army saved me from a callous mother and a life on the wrong side of the tracks that was quickly spiraling out of control. So unlike most of the men in my platoon, going home wasn’t something I longed for.

I was content overseas, spending my days defending this country that gave me my life back. Fighting became my new normal … until her.

A letter from Katie Devora—a letter that I almost didn’t open. Her words put a fire back inside of me that I didn’t know I’d lost. She gave me hope during a time wh

Rising Democratic star Caroline Gerard is reluctant to fall in love again after losing her husband. Can Republican playboy Jack McIntyre break through her grief and capture her heart? Told mostly in flashback and set against a chilling fascist backdrop, Dissident is a rollercoaster ride of political intrigue, passionate romance, and undying love.

Caroline faces the biggest challenge of her life when confronted with the cruelty and sadism of her captors at The Fed. Hope fades quickly, even as she holds onto her one last bit of sanity and her unshakable belief that her husband will rescue her. But is that faith just a mirage?

Reeling from her experiences at The Fed, Caroline tries to forge ahead and create a new identity. But that’s hard to do with the ghosts of the past constantly whispering in her ear. She is determined to find the rebellion and move on with her life, but what will she find when she arrives there?

When they reached the ballroom he locked the door behind him. Jack walked over to one of the decorative side tables and produced a box wrapped with red paper.

“Merry Christmas,” he said, handing it to her.

“Why didn’t you give this to me earlier?”

“I needed us to be in private when I gave it to you. Open it.”

It had to be jewelry. “I told you not to get me anything outlandish.”

“I don’t have to listen to you. Even if we are married.”

Caroline ripped the paper away. She opened the box and was greeted with an exquisite emerald necklace. Fringe design, with each individual green stone framed by tiny sparkling diamonds. The necklace was dripping with jewels from end to end. It looked like a prop from an eighties soap opera except it was stunningly, gorgeously real. She wouldn’t even want to speculate about the cost. “Jack-”

“Do you like it?” he asked.

She was convinced he only gave her presents just to gauge her reaction. To see how long she’d gawk at them before starting to gush. Caroline wasn’t refined when it came to her spontaneous responses to him. Did she like the necklace? A rather silly question since it was one of the most amazing things she’d ever seen.

“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.

He took the box from her. “I didn’t recall seeing you with anything other than sapphires or diamonds. We’re going to have to do something about that.”

She could only imagine the media attention they’d get if she paraded around wearing a necklace that cost more than what the average household made in a year, several times over. Sometimes her husband forgot that he was running for governor, not auditioning for the cast of Falcon Crest. “It’s too much, Jack. It’s so…elaborate. I can’t wear that in public.”

He smiled. “Then don’t. Wear it just for me.”

“Just around the house? Like, when I’m watching baseball and stuff?”

He laughed. “‘And stuff’?”

Her language was less polished than usual. “I’ve had a ton to drink today. I can’t always be articulate.”

Jack pulled her to him, leaning toward her ear. “How about you wear the necklace and nothing else, and grant your husband a dance?”

Now she saw where he was going. “A nice Christmas waltz?” Caroline suggested. “Fully clothed, of course. We must always be proper.”

He tugged at her sweater. “Try again.”

His romantic and seductive gestures were sweet, but impractical. “It’s cold in here.”

“I’ll turn the heat up.”

“What about you?”

“We don’t need to worry about me.”

Caroline sighed. “I meant your clothes.”

He unbuttoned her pants. “They’re staying on.”

That seemed unfair. “I’m not sure I like this power differential.”

Jack ran a finger under the waistband of her panties. “I think you do,” he whispered.

She shivered when he pulled her pants and underwear down. “Will there be music? Or are you going to parade my naked self around the ballroom in silence?”

“I picked a special song for the two of us.” He grinned. “And you won’t be naked. You’ll be wearing the necklace.”

She ran her hands down the front of his shirt, imagining how it would feel for her bare chest to rub against it while they danced. “You will undress at some point, right?”

He kissed her again. “Upstairs. Let me do this,” he said softly, stripping off the rest of her clothes, even her bra and panties. He laughed when he reached her socks. “Are those dinosaurs?”

Caroline liked wearing fun socks. She didn’t care if they were juvenile. She’d get away with it for as long as she could. “They’re wearing little Santa hats.”

Though he’d started to yank them down, he hastily pulled them back up to below her knees. “These can stay on. But only because they make you look so damn adorable.”

She tried not to think of what she’d look like wearing nothing but whimsical dinosaur knee socks and an emerald necklace, but the expression on his face indicated that Jack didn’t particularly care. He kissed her deeply before retrieving the necklace. He took his time placing it around her neck, then stepped back to look at her. It took all her effort not to blush. She hadn’t anticipated the night ending this way.

Jack tipped her chin up. “You look fucking marvelous.”

Her face had to be as red as a cherry. “Even with the socks?”
He brushed a stray hair out of her face. “There are few things sexier than a woman wearing an emerald necklace and dinosaur socks…and nothing else.”

One lie. One act of revenge. One obsessive love.

I was only fifteen when I sent the love of my life to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Rafe Mason, rising MMA star, my brother’s best friend, and the guy my foolish heart yearned for. The guy my foolish heart won’t forget even now that eight years have gone by. But now he’s free and only wants one thing: me at his mercy.

And I am.

I’m a prisoner on his island, held captive by his deviant desires, bound by his justified fury. Even worse, I’m a hostage of my own treacherous heart. But the lie I told eight years ago is ricocheting, destroying lives and altering the course of fate. Neither of us saw it coming.

The violence and death. The betrayal. The utter destruction that leaves us in ruins.

How can a single lie cause so much devastation? Redemption seems impossible because neither of us can undo what’s been done. I belong to him as much as he belongs to me, and we’ll fight for each other or go down in flames trying.

Includes Torrent, Rampant, Fervent, and Vagrant. Intended for mature readers who enjoy a dark romance with a lot of suspense, disturbing themes, and a HEA. Not for the faint of heart. You’ve been warned.

Kristys Review (2)5 Star Review

I can NOT think of a single series that had me anticipating release dates as fervently as the Condemned Series.  I read Torrent and Rampant in a single sitting, devouring both and forgoing sleep in favor following this dirty as hell, sexy as sin, often disturbing and completely enthralling story.   When Fervent came out I couldn’t get to it fast enough and just like the first 2 books, it did not disappoint, taking me on a crazy, dark, wild ride and (also like the first two) leaving me with one hell of a cliffhanger.  SO…when I had a chance to get my hands on an ARC of Vagrant…I could not get to it fast enough.  All my other books were immediately pushed aside, work was forgotten, sleep disregarded…..all that mattered was that Vagrant was on my kindle !!! VAGRANT WAS ON MY KINDLE !!!!

I could not wait learn the story of  Alex and Rafe’s.   All I can say is it was more. Everything about this series was MORE….more than I expected, more than I hoped for, more than I imagined it would be.  The emotion and heart break felt more real, the kink was definitely kinked up a notch and the obstacles in Rafe and Alex’s path are so unique and so heartbreaking.  So many obstacles come from outside forces, but the most insurmountable obstacles are self imposed…, fear, forgiveness, guilt, hurt…the list goes on.

This series was the perfect dark series and one of my very favorite…possibly the darkest series I’ve read thus far.  Gemma is the master of dark romance and these books took me places I never thought I’d go…but more than that, it took me places I never thought I wanted to go.  Yet when I got there, I was so damn glad I went on the journey.  The other thing I absolutely loved about these books was that each one was so different from the one before it.  While they fit together perfectly, each one stretched my boundaries in a new and completely unique way.  However, the best thing about all four of these wonderful books it that at their core, they are a love story.  A twisted love story involving two very damaged and desperate people with a boatload of baggage and some serious kinks, but a tremendous love story none the less.

The only negative thing I can say is that I am damn sad this series is over, but I guess all good things must come to an end….

Three. This is my number. The sum of reasons why I continue to go on.

One: She needs me.

Two: I have to protect her.

And three: With her, I feel human.

But the weight of a man’s secrets is a thousand pounds on his shoulders. Two thousand more on his chest. Trapping him.

Crushing him.

My secrets are slaughtering me.

Fear and regret—of what I’ve done, of whom I’ve become, and of what I’ve let go—are dragging me into a hole, and I can’t claw my way out.

The deeper I sink, the farther I push her away.

The farther she goes, the more my mind spirals. Down into a black abyss. It’s dark here. So damn dark.

She needs to know what I’ve done. I have to tell her. But how can I battle the darkness if I lose my light?

This is what my life is now. I’m a shadow of a man in a scarred body, longing to live again.

Kristys Review (2)5 Star Review

There are a million questions you could ask me that I would have a hard time narrowing down to a single answer like who my favorite band is or what my favorite song is,  my favorite movie or the best book I’ve ever read, or which of my kids is my favorite.  Picking one would be impossible.  But I have one favorite author and the answer has been the same for the last several years….Cheryl McIntyre.  She’s my answer, my only answer ever single time….and books like this are the reason.  She just always gets it right and Grit is no exception.

Dirty, the first book in this series and an absolute must read BEFORE Grit,  was a hard read, amazing and emotional, but hard.  It was gut-wrenching and stomach twisting and painful but still very much a love story about surviving and finding what you need when you least expect it and you don’t even know what it is.  And Grit picks up right where Dirty leaves off, with Link and Rocky still surviving, still dealing but also trying to heal and trying to do that together.

I love these characters, they are so flawed and so scarred and completely struggling to  move forward, but they are also survivors and inherently good people who have seen the very worst  the world can dish out.  Neither one of them ever expected to be in a relationship and witnessing them stumble their way through it is both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

One of the things that sets a Cheryl McIntyre book apart is that ever single thing that happens, ever action and reaction, every event, every thought or feeling a character has makes sense, it’s believable within the context of the story, it`s planned and thought out and done right.  It’s just all done right.  Her characters stay true to character, there’s growth and change, they adapt and sometimes even surprise you, but at their core they remain the people you fell in love with. Link and Rocky are no exception.

The other thing that sets her books apart is her ability to put you in her characters’ heads, to make you feel what they feel.  It’s remarkable really.  When Rocky panicked, I panicked, my heart raced and my breathing picked up.  When Link got angry, I felt angry, when Rocky cried, I cried.  With ever decision they made I was right there with them. I might not have agreed with them, hell I might even have been screaming NO NO NO at my kindle, but I was with them, feeling it, experiencing it. That…that right there is the reason I read books and Cheryl never lets me down.

I loved this book, I couldn’t put it down. And the absolute best part….being there when Link and Rocky get it right, when they finally start to catch a break and when they finally start to heal, it made every painful step worth it.   It was the perfect ending to a perfectly f*@ked up love story.

The only thing I long for is to fucking fade away. I’ve given up. Until her at least…

As soon as we step into the hall, all I hear are the sounds of a tattoo gun buzzing. It echoes throughout the small hallway, making me nervous now.

I stop and look through the open door at Royal and my heart literally skips a beat at the sight of him. He’s leaned over, concentrating on some middle-aged man’s back piece that he’s working on. Jax is chilling next to him, watching, them both looking just as sexy as the other night.

Madison stops next to me, raising a brow as she sets sights on Royal as well. “Well spank my ass and call me Sally,” Madison says with a moan. “Sexy, sinful, tattoo heaven… I’m never leaving. Just saying.”

Royal glances up with a snarl, but then turns his gun off and sets it down when his eyes land on me, watching me watch him. “We’re done for tonight,” he says to his client. “Jax will call you a cab.”

Looking as if he’s not bothered one bit by Royal dismissing him, he stands up, grabs for a stained up white shirt, and walks past us, almost falling into the wall.

Jax stands up and reaches for a bottle of Vodka, pouring five shots. “Did Blaine here give you guys a tour of the building on the way in? Zip up your shit, dude.”

“Fuck off,” Blaine says playfully, snatching up one of the shots while zipping his fly.

I turn my eyes back in Royal’s direction, but keep my head still so he doesn’t notice me watching him.

He looks conflicted as he starts cleaning his table and chair off. “Didn’t think you’d be back,” he says stiffly. “You change your mind on that tattoo?”

I grab a shot glass when Jax hands one to Madison first and then myself. “Your friend asked us to come and my friend here, forced me to agree.” I throw my shot back, emptying the glass, hoping for some kind of liquid courage. “So here I am.”

With stiff muscles, Royal stands up straight and grabs the last shot glass, slamming it back, before shoving the empty glass at Jax. “Come here,” he demands.

I stand here for a second, not moving, until Madison shoves me forward and calls me a pussy. I look back at her and glower, before stopping in front of Royal.

Grabbing my hand he pulls me to him, and grabs my hips, digging his hands in. “I have the perfect spot for your first tattoo.” Reaching for the bottom of my dress, he lifts the front so only he can see, and runs his thumb over my hipbone. “Perfect.”

Yanking my dress down, I back away and watch him as he starts preparing his tattoo equipment. “I never said I was going to let you tattoo me.”

His jaw clenches as he looks back at me. “You scared that Colton is going to be pissed or some shit?”

I shake my head. “At this point, I could care less about what he thinks. As far as I’m concerned, we’re on a break.”

“Okay…” He sits down and runs a hand through his messy hair, his eyes studying mine. “You don’t want one then?”

“I do,” I say quickly, realizing that I do, but I’m just being a pussy, exactly what Madison called me.

“Come on, Ava,” Madison says from behind me. “We’re already here and from what I can see, Royal is very capable of giving great tattoos. I’ll let Blaine over there tat me up next.”

Royal raises a brow in question, when I turn back to him. “What do you say, babe? Take that damn dress off for me?”

I swallow and look around the room. Having three other sets of eyes on me is making me nervous, extremely nervous.

“Out,” Royal suddenly barks out. “Keep the girl close by and make sure Porter stays away from her. He’s on some shit tonight.”

“Madison can stay,” I say firmly, not wanting to send her away. “I don’t care if she watches.”

Madison looks between Jax and Blaine and bites her bottom lip. It’s clear what she wants to do, and that’s most likely both of them. “I’ll be good with the boys. Plus, I want to check out the party animals in the next room.”

I take a deep breath and watch Madison as she follows Jax and Blaine out the door, shutting it behind her with a wink.

I suddenly feel nervous, realizing that I’m alone with Royal. He’s so damn intense that I have no idea what to expect from him.

“Lay down.”

Swallowing, I sit down on the black, leather chair that is already laid back into a bed. I jump from the coldness on my skin, but then close my eyes and get comfortable, waiting on Royal’s next move.

With my eyes still closed, I can see the shadow from him standing above me, before I feel his rough hands brush my upper thighs as he grips my dress and lifts it, stopping just under my breasts.

“Any certain design? I can do it all.”

“A feather,” I say softly. “Blue with purple highlights; feminine and pretty. Can you do that?”

He lifts an eyebrow while pulling on a pair of black gloves. “I can definitely do feminine and pretty. Like I said, I do it all.”

I suck in a breath and grip the seat, when I feel his hands brush against my skin as he prepares to mark me for life.

Grabbing my hand, he places it on his thick thigh. My heart speeds up from the feel of his muscular leg beneath my palm. “If it hurts, dig into my leg and take it out on me. It will help you feel better.”

I hear the buzzing of the gun and instantly grip his thigh, feeling anxious. When I open an eye to peek up at him, he’s smirking.

I nod my head. “Mmm hmm…”

I feel my fingers dig deep into the denim of his thigh as the needle hits my sensitive flesh. My stomach instantly sinks and I flinch, more unprepared than I thought.

I do my best to keep my eyes closed through most of it, but then open my eyes closer to the end, when my skin starts to feel numb. It’s a bit of a relief.

Royal’s face is stern, set in a line of concentration. I notice that he even bites his bottom lip once in a while when he really gets into a good spot. I find myself watching him, my legs slightly opening, as I get lost in my own little world. He’s delicious to watch. There is absolutely no denying that.

Royal’s hand gripping my thigh wakes me from the moment, snapping my eyes up to his.

He pushes my legs together. “Keep those things closed, unless you want me between them,” he growls.

I squeeze my legs together, slightly moaning as the thought of him between my legs causes my body to clench and jerk.

“Is it almost done?” I ask, hoping to come back to reality… the one where he’ll never be between my legs.

Getting lost in the way that his jaw muscles tighten as he adds the finishing touches, my legs relax and slightly open again.

Tossing his tattoo gun aside, Royal stands up and growls, gripping my hips and pulling me down to the end of the chair, until his jean-covered erection is pressed against my pussy. A shock of pleasure runs through my core as he presses against it.

His right hand digs into my hip as the left one tightens around my neck. His eyes meet mine for a brief moment, before his right hand slides down my thigh and he releases my neck, stepping back.

“Keep flashing that smooth little pussy at me… Fuck, Avalon.” His jaw ticks as he looks between my thighs one last time. “Those little underwear don’t cover much.”

“Sorry,” I say in aggravation. “I got comfortable a couple times and wasn’t thinking. I didn’t expect you to get a fucking hard-on over it and freak out.”

Letting out a long breath, Royal sits back down, grabs my hand, and places it back on his thigh. Except this time, I can almost feel the shape of his hard dick above my fingers. I suck in a breath at the near contact.

“This last part might hurt; especially now that we’ve taken an unwanted break. Hold still.”

Kristys Review (2)4 1_2 Star ReviewI’m going to start this review by saying I’m pretty sure I’ve read every book Victoria Ashley has written.  Her alpha male characters just work for me and I was hooked from the very first one. (Slade BTW…I’ve read it a ton of times, still adore it).  So I was psyched for Royal Savage…HOT cover, dark blurb, Victoria Ashley….everything that makes me excited about a new book.  It hit my kindle and I jumped right in. Had I known then what I know now, I might have waited for the weekend, but NOOOooooo….I started it on a week night, on a WORK night.  Ummmm…yeah, I couldn’t put it down, I didn’t sleep, I had to finish, I went to work exhausted…..totally worth it.

Royal is everything I  L?VE in a book boyfriend. He’s hot, tortured, damaged, sweet, protective and actually a really good guy (did I mention hot?).  Tragedy has colored his world and he intends to reside in the black hole that’s left behind.  Enter Avalon. Avalon is drawn to him from the first, she’s always drawn to the bad boy.  Circumstances keep putting them in each others paths and eventually, inevitably they find themselves unable to ignore the obvious attraction. The chemistry between these two is hot, the romance is sweet and the relationship is complicated in the best possible way.

The best part …..the part that really put this book over the top for me was that things happen (things I won’t disclose) but things that I didn’t expect, things I didn’t see coming, things that surprised me. I never get to be surprised any more and this book surprised me. I frigging loved that…I LOVED being surprised.  I loved this book, I loved every minute I spent with this book.  Mostly I was excited that this was Victoria’s best book yet. When one of your one-click authors keeps getting better with every book, that’s something to be excited about.

tag15Victoria Ashley grew up in Rockford, IL and has had a passion for reading for as long as she can remember. After finding a reading app where it allowed readers to upload their own stories, she gave it a shot and writing became her passion.

Her moods flow in gentle waves. The coffee of her irises swims with sadness then lifts into whiskey gold with the twang of my guitar. Left to ourselves in the back lounge, our silence is sinuous, laced with stories from my hometown, Skala, and Nadia’s anecdotes from growing up in a cult. But when we’re quiet, my fingers itch and find my guitar. Toy with strings and enunciate emotions she tries to conceal.

Sometimes, my riffs turn to ballads while lyrics splash out in patches of color in my head. Sometimes, when Nadia curves a hip to get comfortable, my gaze float to her waist and shifts to her chest. The game of my chords turns loaded, adding a steady, slow beat, the way I do to make her climb when we’re together.

Without words, she still hears my hunger. Watches my fingers work metal strings with a need that becomes X-rated. And she sits up. Joins her legs and lowers her chin to her knees, demure, secretive, hiding behind her hair in shyness and not understanding that she’s sexier than ever.

All these females. So many women and vixens with a past, a present, and a future—a full life I never wanted to be a part of. But now, I crave to bury deep under the skin of a single girl who is not single.

It’s been a while since I spoke last, so my voice rasps deep when I say, “You kill me.”

“I don’t want to kill you. Do you know the person you are? How talented you are? You deserve so much, Bo, you don’t even know, and the last thing you need is dead weight like me.”

Walking Heartbreak rectangular Ad

Kristys Review (2)5 Star ReviewI met Bo in Adrenaline Crush and I loved him immediately.  He was the bad boy rocker who just couldn’t love Inga no matter how hard he tried. So the idea that we were going to get to know Bo, understand him, find out why he was as stoic as he was….God I was all over that.  I couldn’t wait for this book….I mean come on Bo was the bad boy that not even Inga could claim and hell….I loved Inga.  Calling this one of my most anticipated books of 2015 would be an understatement.

When I finally got my hands on this baby, I found out it was so much more than a book about Bo Lindgren.  I mean, he was here and he was absolutely amazing and so much better than I even hoped he could be, more nuanced, more endearing, more everything.  But even with all of that, he was only one piece of the puzzle that was so much more intricate than I imagined.  Nadia was ….well she was everything.  She was sweet and sad and sincere and so completely torn apart by the unexpected turns her life had taken.  But she was also strong and brave and bold…..she was just everything.  But even with these two wonderful characters, it’s the secondary character’s that set this book apart and make it not just a story, but a complete world.  I adored Jude, Nadia’s husband (yep her husband).  I loved him, I believed in him and I was so glad he was a part of this journey.  And Bo’s band mates and Nadia’s best friend supply just the right amount of comic relief, friendship and support.

This book just wasn’t like anything else I’ve read.  It was a spectacular breath of new and different and OMG I can’t put this down until I know.  It’s more than just the story of Bo and Nadia, it’s the story of before Bo and Nadia too.  How they got there, what shaped them into the people they are and where life is taking them next.

Lastly, there is just something about how Sunniva writes that makes her books an entirely different experience than an other author out there.  To be completely honest, when I read my first Sunniva Dee book, I didn’t get it right away.  I actually put it down and went back to it later and started it over.  And then I just got it and I LOVED it.  She just bombards you with feelings and thoughts and emotions, one after another tumbling over each other in this way that makes you stop thinking and start feeling.  It’s not about grammar and proper sentences and complete thoughts, which isn’t to say that all of those things are neglected, they’re not.  It just becomes about what it really feels like to be that character in that moment feeling all of the crazy or all of the love or all of the pain or all of the hope.  It’s the difference between watching the roller coaster or being on the roller coaster.

Author Bio:

Sunniva was born in Norway, the Land of The Midnight Sun, but spent her early twenties making the world her playground. Southern Europe: Spain, Italy, Greece—Argentina: Buenos Aires, in particular. The United States finally kept her interest, and after half a decade in California, she now lounges in the beautiful city of Savannah. Sunniva has a Master’s degree in Spanish, which she taught until she settled in as an adviser at an art college in the South.

Sunniva writes New Adult fiction with soul. Sometimes it’s with a paranormal twist, like in Shattering Halos, Stargazer, and Cat Love. At other times, it’s contemporary, as in Pandora Wild Child, Leon’s Way, Adrenaline Crush, and now Walking Heartbreak.

Sunniva is the happiest when her characters take over, let their emotions run off with them, shaping her stories in ways she never foresaw. She loves bad-boys and good-boys run amok, and like in real life, her goal is to keep you on your toes until the end of each story.

Book Blurb

The New York Times Best Selling author Nashoda Rose is back with the much anticipated story of Kai and London in the Unyielding series.

There is nothing I care about.
No attachments.
No connections.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I didn’t.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.

We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.

Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
Their beginning.
And the continuing story of Vault.

Must be read in order:
Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie
Perfect Ruin (Unyielding, #2) Kai and London
Perfect Rage (Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story

Wenn's Review

5 ” ALWAYS” stars

Nashoda Rose is one of my go-to author.
I know without a doubt that I will love anything she writes, my faith in her writing is that high!

I’ve been intrigued, captivated by Kai since he was mentioned in her previous books (and series)
Kai was this mysterious man, really dark, dangerous.

And he IS dangerous.
Being around him means you’re a potential target.

But Kai falls for London. And she becomes a real target. “They” will destroy her, ruin her, humiliate her.

How will they survive this? How will Kai save London? How can London save Kai from his past?

This is a dark romance, with twists and plots, blood and murders, sex and love, trust and betrayal…

It has it ALL.

I highly recommend you to read Nashoda Rose’s whole series in order to understand completely all the connection ion between the characters.

☠☠ Review ☠☠ CORRUPT ☠☠ by Penelope Douglas

6 Stars

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas comes a new dark romance…

I was told that dreams were our heart’s desires. My nightmares, however, became
my obsession.

His name is Michael Crist.

My boyfriend’s older brother is like that scary movie that you peek through
your hand to watch. He’s handsome, strong, and completely terrifying. The star
of his college’s basketball team and now gone pro, he’s more concerned with the
dirt on his shoe than me.

But I noticed him.

I saw him. I heard him. The things that he did, and the deeds that he hid…For
years, I bit my nails, unable to look away.

Now, I’ve graduated high school and moved on to college, but I haven’t stopped
watching Michael. He’s bad, and the dirt I’ve seen isn’t content to stay in my
head anymore.

Because he’s finally noticed me.

Her name is Erika Fane, but everyone calls her Rika.

My brother’s girlfriend grew up hanging around my house and is always at our
dinner table. She looks down when I enter a room and stills when I am close. I
can always feel the fear rolling off of her, and while I haven’t had her body,
I know that I have her mind. That’s all I really want anyway.

Until my brother leaves for the military, and I find Rika alone at college.

In my city.

The opportunity is too good to be true, as well as the timing. Because you see,
three years ago she put a few of my high school friends in prison, and now
they’re out.

We’ve waited. We’ve been patient. And now every last one of her nightmares will
come true.

*Corrupt is a STANDALONE dark romance with no cliffhanger. It is suitable for
ages 18+.

Kristys Review (2)6 StarsI’m going to start by saying that Penelope Douglas wrote one of my very favorite series (The Fall Away Series and if you haven’t read it YOU NEED TO).  Consequently, my expectations for Corrupt were exceedingly high, especially considering it promised to be darker than the Fall Away books and I seriously love dark reads.  All I can say is Penelope Douglas completely obliterated my expectations, she left them floundering in her dust, she actually made me feel silly for setting them so low.
There was so much I loved about this book that I hardly know where to start.
First, this is not one story.  This book is two stories, unfolding simultaneously, both of which are completely enthralling, captivating and heart pounding.  You are getting the present story of Erika out on her own and unknowingly at the mercy of the Four Horsemen, 4 hot as hell men with no limits, who hold her responsible for destroying life as they knew it.  Plus, you get the story of Devil’s Night, three years before.  The night Erika ran with the Horsemen and all of their lives were change irrevocably.  The skill it takes to keep two separate stories interesting, engaging and on track is amazing to me and Penelope does it to perfection.
Then, there was the fact that these stories, both of them, were heart pounding, shocking and breath-taking.  I was on edge for the last 40% of this book, I could hardly breathe I was so on edge….and I loved every single second of it.  The Horsemen were intense, scary and unrestrained.  I was never sure how far they were willing to go, how much danger Erika was really in and how crazy this story was going to get (and it does get crazy).  And, on top of all of the suspense, this book was a love story, with two people who were drawn to each other despite a million circumstances determined to keep them apart.  I generally don’t like mysteries or suspense mixed in with my romances, I feel like all to often the relationships and the romance take a back seat to the mystery, leaving me feeling jipped and not invested. So not the case here, I was fully invested and complete enthralled and the relationship between Micheal and Erika was so completely enhanced by the danger and drama.
Lastly, the characters MADE THIS BOOK.
The supporting characters were complete and well developed with just the right amount of backstory and personality to make you feel for them and with them.  I can’t wait until they all have books of their own.  And Michael was drool worthy.  I adored him in a way that hasn’t happened to me for a while.  Keep in mind I love a complex, angry, confusing a**hole of a leading man.  I want my leading man to be tortured and conflicted and unable to resist the pull towards the woman he shouldn’t want, but I also need him protective, emotional, hot and sweet.  Not to much to asked right?  Michael delivers in spades ON EVERYTHING !!

What surprised the hell out of me in this book was Erika…..I ADORED her in a way I have adored no other.  She is SPECTACULAR !!!  My God I wanted to BE her or date her, I couldn’t decide which (and I’m straight BTW).  Erika is reckless and brave and tough as nails.  She craves the rush and the exhilaration she gets from running with the Horseman…and when they turn on her, she welcomes the challenge, refusing to back down and completely enamored with the game.  She’s also compassionate, romantic and loyal.  God I loved her character…did I mention that?  Everything about this book is done to perfection in my opinion, but Erika Fane is what put it over the top for me, lifting it easily into my top 10 of 2015.  Do not pass this one up.

4 Star Review

Tell me a secret…

CJ Carmichael hasn’t been able to get the vivacious blonde he spent four delirious days with off his mind. The blonde who was completely off-limits, but he couldn’t deny.

Tell me a secret…

CJ had no intention of pursuing her, but Tara Stevens knew what she wanted and it was him. Now six months later, their time together still haunts him. As much as he’s tried to talk himself out of seeing her again, the craving is just too powerful.

Tell me a secret…
Tara is more than willing to spend an entire fantasy weekend with CJ. More than willing to hand herself over to him completely and fulfill his every desire. More than willing to pretend he owns her despite their age difference and Kayne’s disapproval.
Tell me a secret…
Sometimes fantasy becomes a reality. Sometimes people fall in love before they even know it- before they even know each other- and after its too late.
Tell me a secret…
Sometimes, beneath the sweetest secrets are the most deceptive lies.

I let her rest as I take off my clothes. Once I’ve discarded my shirt and pants, I take the liberty of removing her underwear. What little is left of the stretched out, saturated material. “Don’t get comfortable. We’re not done yet.” I pull her up by the hand.

“I never said anything about being done.” She peers up at me. Round two is right around the corner.

“I missed that mouth.” I run my thumb along her bottom lip.

“What else did you miss?” She flutters her eyelashes.

“Your eyes.” Tara looks up at me surprised. Not the answer she was expecting?

“I missed your laugh,” she tells me timidly. “And the way you used to make me laugh.”

“Can I tell you a secret?” I ask, holding her chin. Tara nods. “I missed that, too. The most. I promise while I’m here, I’ll make you laugh as much as I make you come.”

“That sounds good to me.” I pull her to her feet and kiss her crazily. Running my hands through her hair until it’s a mess and our bodies are as close as they can possibly be.

“Go lean on the windowsill,” I tell her headily. Along the entire length of the windows in the bedroom is a ledge about a foot and a half deep. “Leave the boots on.”

Tara smiles puckishly. “You like?”

I grab the top part of the black boot that reaches halfway up her thigh. “I love. And I’m going to love them even more when I’m fucking you in them.” I tug roughly, kissing her. “Go.”

Kristys Review (2)4 Star ReviewThe Decadence after Dark series is one of me very favorite from this year, so I was excited to be back in that universe.  We met Tara and CJ in the previous books and we got the tiniest taste of them at Kayne and Ellie’s wedding.  But yeah…that was just a tiny little taste.  Due to a 10 year age difference and Kayne’s disapproval, these two know they have no future together….but they really can’t get past their 4 days together.  Then Jett gives CJ a brilliant idea….go to New York and get Tara out of his system.  Easier said than done.  And when Tara’s secrets come to light CJ realizes heading back to Hawaii is not happening any time soon.

M. Never writes some crazy sexy books and this one is no exception.  It’s a different kind of sexy than the first three books of the series….but that only adds to this story.  Repetition is boring and this book is anything but.  CJ is so different than the other boys and it makes him so damn HOT.  Tara is unique too…she knows what turns her on and she embraces it fully. She’s also spectacularly independent but she is also an odd mix of confident and insecure.  It’s actually quite refreshing.

This book was the perfect balance of sex, romance, intrigue, mystery, and danger.  And the balance is key….I read romance and OK…I’m just going to say it…Smut….I read smut.  I don’t really read mysteries or suspense, but in this book the suspense is done right.  It adds to the romance, it increases the sexiness, it doesn’t detract from them.

But at it’s core, this book is exactly what I love…a romance.  A hot sexy love story that will have you coming back for more.  Bring on Jett…..
