He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

5 Star ReviewThe Deal was one of my favorite books of 2015 so I had extremely high hopes for The Score, especially considering that Dean was kind of an ass in the previous books and in all honesty….. I really have a thing for cocky, womanizing asses.  I thought it was entirely possible that I would love Dean.  I have never been so happy to be wrong. I didn’t love Dean…I adored him. I couldn’t get enough of him. He was everything I wanted him to be and then he was even better than that.  He was so damn funny and cocky and horny, but he was also sweet and protective and sincere and completely comfortable in his own very impressive skin.  Turns out he also has a big old heart too……who knew?

I know much was made about who Dean should be paired with in this book and perhaps Allie wasn’t the obvious choice, but Oh My God was she the right choice.  I adored Allie and I don’t walk away from a lot of books in love with the female lead, so I’m always so damn excited when I do.  Allie was funny, Allie was cool.  She was fun and independent and wonderful at learning how to go with the flow that was Dean.

There was a lot of unexpected in this book.  I don’t want to make it sound like it’s all sunshine and roses in this book.  Dean and Allie are both faced with some seriously intense issues that life throws at them and watching them, both as individuals and as a couple, cope and navigate is such a wonderful and gut wrenching experience.  The people they become are so vastly different from the people they are when they first get together and the journey from beginning to end is remarkable.

I loved this book….. beginning, middle and end.  It absolutely lives up to the hype.  Dean is so worth the wait !!!!!!

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice… even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

I loved this book. LOVED IT. Garrett and Hannah were amazing. I loved both characters. And despite the fact that the trope is a fairly familiar one (or two), you know smart, pretty girl who doesn’t know it tutors an athlete the entire school love PLUS he pretends to be her boyfriend to help her snag the “right” guy, everything about this book felt fresh and new. It just seemed like nothing I’ve ever read before (and I have read tons).

Garrett was perfect. He was cocky, but always a nice guy. He was a player, but not a manwhore. He may have been with a lot of girls, but you never got the feeling he was using them or degrading them, just …enjoying them. He was smart and an athlete. And in the end he was an amazing man.

Hannah was one of my favorite heroines in a really long time. She was smart, independent and confident without being hard or bitchy. She had a great sense of humor and her playful back and forth with Garret has both hysterical and heartwarming. There was nothing forced or fake about her. Honestly, I wanted her to be my best friend. Hannah had some traumatic events happen in her past, but she didn’t dwell on them and the grace and dignity in which she lived her life was so refreshingly inspiring.

What made this book was the friendship between these two, it was so honest and so genuine and such a beautifully slow build. It is absolutely, hands down, the most believable friendship I’ve ever read between a male and a female. It wasn’t a friendship where one is secretly lusting after the other….it was just a true deep friendship. And, eventually, when the romantic feelings started to build, it was handled with such honestly and integrity, it was perfection. The story was enthralling without being angsty or overly dramatic.

This book I will read over and over again. It will instantly become one of my go to books when I need to read something that wont let me down.
