Wicked Lust (The Wicked Horse Series Book #2)
Release Date: January 5, 2016
Cain Bonham is as big and bad as they come. After serving in the Marines, he’s returned home to Wyoming and now works as head of security at the exclusive sex club, The Wicked Horse. His job is to protect not only the patrons, but to zealously guard the secret existence of the club itself.
Sloane Preston is all about discovering secrets. As an undercover reporter, she’s determined to reveal the truth behind the facade of The Wicked Horse and expose it for all the world to see. She just didn’t count on her pathway into the club coming at the hands of one gorgeously scarred and bad ass bouncer who manages to easily possess her body and soul.
While Cain’s not looking for anyone to catch his eye, Sloane did it all the same, and he’s not bemoaning the fact that she’s as wickedly kinky as he is. As both get caught up in the sinful fantasies that only The Wicked Horse can create, secrets and loyalties will be tested and hearts will risk being broken.
**Warning: this book has sex in it. Lots of sex. Dirty sex. The Wicked Horse Series is a bit different than what Sawyer Bennett normally writes. While you’ll still enjoy fabulous characters, a suspenseful story, some witty banter and an epic romance, there’s just… a lot of sex. You’ve been warned.

I want to start off by saying I’m a big fan of Sawyer Bennett. I really love her Cold Fury Hockey series and I was really excited when I heard about the Wicked Horse series because…well….a great writer and Sex Club. Enough said.
The first book, Wicked Fall was pretty good. I liked the characters and the story line. The sex was pretty hot, not quite erotica, but not bad either. Woolf was hot and Bridger??? HELLO I really wanted more of that guy. So I went into Wicked Lust with high hopes. Maybe a little too high. I didn’t really like these characters, mainly because I felt like I didn’t know them at all. The first several chapters (half of the book) has virtually nothing going on except sex. Now I like a good sex scene (or ten) as much as the next reader (actually more than most) but I need to know something about the characters. I felt no connection between them or to them. At one point my inner dialogue actually became “Oh look, what a surprise, they’re having sex again.”
Then the book gets kinky (sort of, I mean it tries to) but it just seemed too vanilla to be smut, yet the premise (plot) under which the sex unfolds seems hard to believe for me, forced maybe (no that’s not a pun). Then Bridger enters the picture (did I mention I have a thing for him) and even he was a little bit of a let down.
THEN the plot starts to pick up and I was kind of feeling it for a while. Bridger stepped up to the plate and made the story interesting (in ways not involving his member). The main character’s start to show some personality, they have a little back ground. I started to feel sucked in a little, but we are talking 3/4 of the way into the book. And then, I don’t know, it kind of fell apart for me again. Forced drama, decisions that made you want to slap the characters. Overall, I just never really got into this book. I’m still holding out hope that Bridger will get a book at some point but, until then I’m not sure I will read the other books in this series. Honestly this one was just barely 3 stars for me.
