Dear Aaron

Dear Aaron by Mariana Zapata
Amazon US

Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas.
The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional.
Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect.
What she didn’t count on was falling in love with the guy

Dear Aaron is my first slow burn novel (Honestly I didn’t even know slow burn was a thing) and I enjoyed this book to an extent. I do want to start out saying that at first I LOVED this book, I was so excited and loved where it was going.

Ruby Santos is probably one of the least confident female characters I have ever read about. She has her moments when she sticks up for herself, but for the most part she sits in a corner and lets everyone else run her life. It is actually sad to watch at times. I would catch myself yelling at her to just do something about her damn family running her life.

Ruby regularly signs up with a pen-pal program for soldiers who are deployed. We don’t know much about either characters going into the book, but through their emails you get a feel for who they are. We really don’t learn too much about Aaron outside of the emails, but we do get to experience Ruby with her family (who is crazy) and her life outside these email exchanges (more than half the book is the characters writing back and forth)

I’m not sure slow burn romances are really for me. I think I want to try another one where the characters meet sooner and we get to see them grow together into a couple and maybe see more from both characters. I didn’t really like Ruby so being in her head, it was REALLY annoying at times. I would have liked to get more into Aaron’s head and learn more about him.

By the time these two characters met I was so ready for the storyline to wrap up, which was almost exactly what happened. The characters met, they hung out, they’re a couple, boom story over. I read over 60% of emails between them for that?

All in all the book was enjoyable, I really liked the emails, I got very involved. I just felt that 60% of the book being email exchanges was too much and by the time we did get to the end it was very anti-climatic. I will say the writing was good and the premises was great. If slow burns are your thing then this book just might be for you!

Porn Star by Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone – Book Tour

You know me.

Come on, you know you do.

Maybe you pretend you don’t. Maybe you clear your browser history religiously. Maybe you pretend to be aghast whenever someone even mentions the word porn in your presence.

But the truth is that you do know me.

Everybody knows Logan O’Toole, world famous porn star.

Except then Devi Dare pops into my world, and pretty soon I’m doing things that aren’t like me—like texting her with flirty banter and creating an entire web porn series just so I can get to star in her bed. Again. And again.

With Devi, my entire universe shifts, and the more time I spend with her, the more I realize that Logan O’Toole isn’t the guy I thought he was.

So maybe I’m not the guy you thought I was either.

4 Stars!

Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect from this book when I sign up for it.

All I knew was that

a) I love both authors so it could only be explosive,

b) with a title and blurb like that you can only want to read it,

c) and when they release a cover like this it becomes your most expected book to read!

So to say that I was surprised by the tournure of the story is an understatement.
And this Logan O’Toole, sighs, he is one beautiful soul! And Devi, I wish I was as wise as her.

Both characters are masters in the introspection art. Well, sooner or later. The struggles they faced were genuine, I could understand the way they weighed the right and wrong, the real life and set life.

Kuddos to the authors for writing such a beautiful story with a topic so easily judged.
The sex scenes were perfect, steamy, and were respectful of the “actors/characters”.
I really loved how everything blended together and yet how Logan was able to draw a line between work and love. Until it all crumbled….

Above all, this book fed my addiction to porn, exhilarating feelings, heartbreaking declarations, hot make-up session, and love confession.

subordination cover

When Sophie Jameson first became a domme at Club 1740, it was more out of financial necessity than it was for personal pleasure and sexual exploration. But over the years as she rocked her leather corsets and boots while wielding every crop and flogger imaginable, she grew to love the thrill and adulation that her clients brought her. But all along, her path in life and her heart was with a different profession—one she was planning to embark on at the summer’s end.

And then he changed everything. Tall, dark, impossibly built—William was the complete opposite of whatever image a male sub conjured up. After all the subs, Sophie finally felt true lust and desire. Although he was the proud stallion who needed breaking, he became the one to make her break all her rules and let down all her walls.

But it was just supposed to be for that one night, but an accidental encounter days later outside Club 1740’s protected walls had the two seeing each other in a different light—as simply Sophie and William, not Domme and sub. While they should have parted ways, they couldn’t. While they should never have gone back to her place, they did.

And that simple mistake has a serious price for both of them.

Subordination Excerpt

Keeping his head bowed, he asked, “Mistress, will you give me the honor of pleasuring you?”

“But why?”

I swept my hands to my hips. “Are you being insubordinate with me?”

“No, mistress. I just wish you would consider my offer.”

“And why is that?”

“Because I want to please you. I want to make you come as hard as you made me.”

“Sorry. The answer is still no,” I replied as I took the rope over to the sink to be disinfected.

When I turned around, surprised filled me at the sight of William on his feet again. His gaze still remained averted from mine. “Look at me,” I commanded.

He raised his eyes to stare at me full on as I walked back over to him. Although he was trying to mask it, I could tell he was hurt by my refusal. “I want you to understand that it’s not you—you didn’t do anything to displease me. I don’t receive pleasure from any of my subs.”

“You should,” he insisted.

Cocking my head at him, I said, “You should remember how to talk to your mistress.”

Instead of appearing apologetic, he took a step forward. “May I at least kiss you?”

As I gazed at his earnest expression, I didn’t see what it could hurt. “Fine. A kiss and then you go on your merry little way.” I poked a finger into his breastbone. “And you tip me well.”

William smiled. “Yes, Mistress.”

I stood toe to toe with William and tilted my chin. “Kiss me,” I instructed.

He dipped his head, and he closed his eyes. At the slight brush of his lips against mine, a shiver of anticipation shot down my spine. I felt like I was thirteen again with a boulder of anxiety in my stomach as the boy I liked kissed me behind our barn. When he deepened the kiss, he brought his arms around me, molding me to him. The kiss was everything—passionate, intimate, and affectionate. It felt like rediscovering a lost emotion—a lost part of me.

Needing more, I sucked his tongue inside my mouth. The moment I gave him the green light, a switch flipped inside William. The reverent way his mouth had worshipped mine was replaced with a desperate conquering. His tongue battled along with mine, sucking, licking, devouring. An ache began to build between my thighs, and I pressed my hips against William’s.

His hand left the small of my back to wrap around my braid. He tugged on it, pulling me back to look at him. “I want to taste every part you, not just your mouth.”

Breathless from our exertions, it took me a moment to find my voice. “I told you I don’t do that.”

“Why should you deny yourself?”

Staring into his handsome face, I wondered the same thing. All these years, I’d never taken any pleasure for myself. There had been subs I’d been attracted to like Owen. Not all of them were interested in reciprocating pleasure, but many were. And I told them all no.

As I stood molded against William’s warm, overpowering body like a second flesh, I didn’t want to argue anymore. I wanted to let go. I was a twenty-four year woman who had pretty much sacrificed her life for work, school, and her family. I couldn’t remember the last time an orgasm hadn’t come from a vibrating device.

Dipping his head, William’s breath was warm against my ear. “Please let me make you come.”

At the thought of what his mouth could do on my pussy, I whispered, “Yes.”

3.5 Stars!

Generally I tend to avoid the dominant pattern subject, you know it feels so déjà-vu.

This is the first time I read a book about a Domme and submissive.
A woman demanding the submission of her lover and the latter desperate to satisfy the desires and needs of his mistress … Wow, I was immediately captivated by this book.

As much I fell in love with William, with his determination and endearing side, the heroine got on my nerves. I felt like she was too whiny, her fear of being abandoned not enough founded to my taste.

When a man puts as much passion to swoon you, to tell you he wants you for what you are, he wants to and will make sacrifices to be with you, you do not answer him that your relationship is doomed to failure, lowering your arms without a fight.

The originality of the subject matter and the character of William are worth a good 4 star, however the whiny side of the heroine prevents me from giving them.
This will be a good 3.5 stars!

Ellie Anthony isn’t looking for love. She isn’t even looking for a man, but when Jax Mayson insists on keeping her and her daughter safe, she’s left with no choice but to trust him. Now she just hopes she doesn’t get hurt when she falls hard for a guy who’s known for breaking hearts.

Jax Mayson knows that Ellie is his

BOOM the moment he sees her. When he finds out she has a daughter, he realizes he wants a family, and he will do whatever is necessary to keep both of his girls safe, even if that means facing the demons from his past.

Excerpt: Until Jax

“Thank you again for taking me.” Pulling my eyes from the road for a brief moment, I look at Ellie. Her head is resting against the window, her legs pulled up onto the seat, tucked near her ass, and her arms are wrapped tight around them. One thing I’ve noticed about her over the last few hours is she’s always wrapping her arms around herself or tucking her body into a tight ball. It’s like she’s forcing herself to stay together.

“I told you I got you, baby,” I say gently, wanting more than anything to take her hand in mine, but every time I touch her, she freezes up like she’s waiting for me to strike out at her, and I would be lying if I said that didn’t piss me the fuck off. It does; it feels like a slap in the face every time it happens.

“I know,” she whispers, and the te

ars I hear in her voice cause a sharp pain in my chest.

“This is the turnoff.” Her feet go to the floorboard and her hands to the dash as she sits up taller, moving her face closer to the windshield. We drive up a long dirt driveway with forest and the occasional broken down car on each side. When we make it to the top of the hill, a singlewide trailer comes into view, with junk cars and garbage piled up out front.

As soon as I come to a sto

p, she opens her door and hops out before I can tell her to keep her little ass in the cab. I don’t even know how I’m going to deal with the range of emotions that have settled over me since seeing her for the first time.

“Fucking Boom,” I mutter, getting out behind her and doubling my steps until I’m able to reach her side, where I wrap my hand around her waist and pull her closer to me. She’s so fucking tiny that the top of her dark head sits right at my chest. So fragile, from her too soft skin to her petite size. And she’s mine.

4 Star Review

What can I say… I’m a huge Aurora Rose Reynolds fan.
I’ve read all her books and each one is precious.

I loved this book, really but I didn’t get a BOOM as big as I usually do when reading Aurora’s books. I thought, maybe, it could have been a little bit more detailled.

Don’t get me wrong, you need to read this book, to meet these fabulous characters.
You’ll fall in love with them, you’ll cry with them and as Ellie, you will find it hard to resist the hot piece of man that is Jax.

But Ellie protects her heart and her daughter too. I understood her reservations and found it absolutely funded.

All the Mayson’s family was here to support Ellie and Hope in any way they could, and THERE you remember why you love the MAYSON so much!!!

In a nutshell, I still adore Aurora Rose Reynolds’ writing and will as always be fangirling each time she releases a new book.

5 “Yeah?” Stars

I love J. Daniels’ books. I f****g love them.

But this one, Oh my… this one… I finished it last night, and I only want one thing: Re read it again and again so that I’ll feel like Mason is right here with me.

Brooke is an awesome character. The kind of girl you’d like to have as your best friend. She is funny, passionate and feisty.
She likes sex and gets what she likes when she wants.

Now, Mason. Mason. Mason. Perfect blend of sweet, filthy, caring and alpha man…
I loved everything about him. He was endearing, trying to get to know Brooke when she was so opposed to it.
His persistence and willpower to break her walls down without having sex, was what made the sexual chemistry between those two reach a level so high my Kindle nearly melted. And so did I.

The characters development was perfect. How they discover each other, how they lean on each other. I understood both their fears and concerns.

J.Daniels wrote once again an amazing book. If you liked Mason with the Bama gang, but you will LOVE him in this book.
