Title: Scarlet Stone
Author: Jewel E Ann
Genre: A romantic suspense standalone
Release Date: December 10th, 2016
“My name is Scarlet Stone, and my biggest fear is that someday I will find what I want most in life, and it will be impossible to steal.”
What happens when life just stops? When one moment makes you question your entire existence?
Scarlet Stone is a third-generation thief who has everything: a doting fiancé, a spacious London flat, and a legitimate job offer. In a single breath, everything becomes nothing, and she finds herself on a plane to Savannah, Georgia in search of the meaning of life.
After securing a six-month lease for a beachfront house on Tybee Island, Scarlet changes the way she looks, thinks, eats—basically her entire outlook on life. She needs peace, but what she gets is a housemate who looks like Thor, acts like a warden, and smells her proximity like a Bloodhound.
Theodore Reed is a carpenter and perfectionist with a body built of steel, a black, hollow heart, and a hunger for revenge. He doesn’t like company, girly-smelling crap, and British accents.
He resents every breath she takes.
She’s fascinated by his every move.
In time, they discover their coexistence is toxic, their physical attraction is electric, the secrets they keep mean the difference between life and death, and the only truth they share is that everything is a lie.
“Over eighty-five percent of the world’s population believes in a higher power, yet, very few people believe in miracles.”

Jewel E. Ann is one of my very favorite authors, so any day that one of her books ends up on my kindle is a very good day. This woman completely sucks me into every story she tells and Scarlet Stone was no exception. I was hooked on this story from page one and invested by chapter two. As with all Jewel books, she doles out the story in tiny little increments. You just have to expect that she is going to feed you little pieces along the way and in the end she is going to tie up every single loose end and a perfect little bow that takes you by surprise. Just trust and hang on for the ride.
I have a hard time deciding what Jewel is better at…writing amazing, enthralling, complex characters or writing amazing, enthralling, complex storylines. To be honest, she excels at both. I loved Scarlet. She was unique and her back story was like nothing I ever read before. She was a times beautifully calm and serene and at other times a hurricane. Theo was amazing (and frustrating) and a crazy mystery for most of the book, but when he finally shows his heart and his journey….WOW. I was blown away by him in both good and bad ways.
As always, Jewel doesn’t tell you the story of two characters, she builds a world full an amazing supporting cast and a plot woven so tightly around them you can’t help but buy into it completely. The begin of the story was amazing, and while there were parts in the middle where I questioned whether to not Jewel was going to be able to pull it all together, the end just completely blew me away. I have seriously gone back and re-read parts of the end over and over I loved it so much. There is NOTHING this woman could write that I will not read. Nobody does it better.
